Build a Personal Brand AI Can't Replace

Anyone can generate a polished LinkedIn post before lunch now, and your buyers can tell. They check your socials, read your newsletter, and ask people who've worked with you before they ever take a call.

From Nov 9-13, I'm running 5 live lunch-hour sessions on Zoom. You'll find where you lose a buyer's trust, build a proof bank, draft posts live, and leave with a 30-day plan.

It's the same system behind Legacy Builder (#257 on the 2026 Inc. 5000) and 50M+ impressions for our clients.

The Endless Content Ideas Framework

Founders who publish consistently for years stopped deciding how to say things every time. They built a few formats they trust, so each week's real work is the idea itself.

To do this, start by picking 2 or 3 formats tied to your core topics.

Choose a small set of formats that fit what you want to be known for, like a teardown of a common mistake, a lesson from a real client situation, or a side-by-side of the wrong way and the right way. Tie each one to something you teach, so every post reinforces the same territory.

Next, give each one a fixed shape. Write the structure down so you never rebuild it from memory.

A teardown might always open with the mistake, explain why people make it, then show the fix. Once the shape is set, a first draft becomes filling in the blanks, and your time goes to the thinking.

After you’ve set the format and the shape, let repetition do the marketing.

Audiences recognize a format they've seen before, and recognition builds anticipation. When people know your Tuesday breakdown is coming, they look for it. The repetition that feels boring to you is what makes your work memorable to them.

If you need fresh inspiration every time you post, your system depends on your mood. If you can open a template and start writing, it depends on your ideas, and that holds up through busy weeks and slow ones.

"The Fact-Check Yourself Test"

More people now meet you through a summary before they meet you directly. They ask an AI assistant who can help with their problem, or what your business does, and get an answer built from whatever it could piece together. But many founders have never checked what that answer says.

This week, ask an AI assistant about yourself and your business: what you do, who you serve, what you're known for, and how you compare with alternatives. Write down everything it gets wrong, leaves out, or describes vaguely. Then publish one post that states the most important missing point plainly.

Track replies and profile visits, and notice whether people repeat the clarified point back to you.

The hypothesis is that stating your basics plainly sharpens how people understand you. If a machine reading your public work can't tell what you do, some human readers probably can't either.

Volume Without a Point of View Is Just Noise

There was a stretch when I believed output was the whole game. I published constantly and could point to the calendar to prove how hard I was working. What I couldn't point to was a single idea people associated with me.

Every post was fine. Each one was reasonable, helpful, and easy to agree with, and because they were all easy to agree with, none of them stuck. People scrolled past my work the same way they scrolled past everyone else's, because it didn't sound like anyone in particular had written it.

What changed was deciding what I actually believed and saying it out loud. I picked positions I'd defend, including ones some people would push back on, and let them shape what I published. I posted less for a while, but people started quoting those posts back to me, arguing with them, and telling me which idea made them reach out.

Frequency only matters once people know what you stand for. Without a point of view, more content just means more forgettable content. With one, every post adds to a reputation.

Say less if you have to, but make sure it sounds like you.

TikTok Adds an AI Shopping Assistant and One-Click Checkout

On October 5, TikTok announced a conversational AI shopping assistant and one-click checkout inside the app. The assistant answers questions about sizing, shipping, and availability and remembers each shopper's preferences. With one-click checkout, people can buy straight from a brand's video in the For You feed, with partners including Shopify, Stripe, and Salesforce. TikTok Shop generated an estimated $15.8 billion in U.S. sales in 2025, about 18% of U.S. social commerce.

Seeing a product and buying it are now a single tap apart, with an AI guiding the decision in between. A video now has to work as the pitch, the product page, and the checkout prompt at once.

For founders, there are two lessons. Your product information has to be clear enough for an AI to explain accurately, because the assistant will answer questions on your behalf. And the platform now holds the memory of what each shopper wants, so use it to reach people while building a direct relationship of your own through an email list, a community, or a customer program.
