The Purpose Behind Posting Content

The 3-Layer Content System Every Founder Needs

Most founders think of a strong idea, publish it once, and move on. The idea gets one shot on one platform before it disappears into the feed.

That's a slow leak of your best thinking, disguised as a content strategy.

Here's the 3-layer system we use with our clients to make every idea work harder:

Layer 1: Build one source asset.

Start with the fullest version of your thinking: a newsletter issue, long-form video, podcast, article, or client case study.

In the case of our clients, we do a monthly hour-long interview to extract all of the material we need for the next 30 days.

This is where you make the complete argument with real examples, real evidence, and an opinion you've earned the right to hold. It's the source material every other piece draws from.

Layer 2: Extract the strongest ideas.

Pull individual insights from that source and give each one a standalone life. They can flow into LinkedIn posts, short videos, or become long-form content or newsletters. Don't summarize the whole piece everywhere. Give each idea room to stand on its own.

Same source, different entry points, different reasons to engage.

Layer 3: Let the response guide you.

Which idea got thoughtful replies, saves, or conversations with the right people? That's your market research.

The ideas that resonated deserve a second long-form piece, a workshop, or a more developed point of view. The ones that got ignored need less of your time.

The pattern is simple. Go deep once. Distribute with intention. Let the signal tell you where to go next.

Most founders skip Layer 1 and jump straight to posting. Then they wonder why their content feels shallow, why it doesn't compound, why nothing sticks.

The founders who publish less but go deeper end up with something the frequent posters never build: a body of work that pulls its own weight.

“The Community Question Bank”

The easiest way to make content more useful is to stop guessing what your audience needs.

This week, collect 10 repeated questions from comments, DMs, sales calls, client calls, email replies, or peer conversations.

Choose the question with the clearest tension behind it, the one people ask because they are stuck or trying to make a decision, and turn it into your next post.

Open with the question, give your direct answer, then add one example, framework, or mistake you have seen people make. Keep it focused enough that someone can act on it immediately.

Track the quality of response, not just reach. Did people ask follow-up questions? Did it lead to DMs, saves, or someone saying you put language around a problem they already had?

The hypothesis: content built from a real audience question creates more meaningful engagement than content built from a blank page.

Ten questions, one post, and a clearer signal about what your audience wants from you.

There Has Never Been a Better Time to Build a Company

Every previous generation of founders had to earn things this one gets for free (or at least at a significant discount).

Software that used to need a technical co-founder can be built in a weekend. Research, customer support, first drafts of anything: all of it sits on your desktop, waiting.

The historical excuses are quieter than they've ever been:

"I don't have the team."
"I don't have the budget."
"I don't have the connections."

Those constraints aren't what's holding you back anymore.

If you were waiting for the right conditions to start something, they're already here.

Google Adds Generative AI Reporting to Search Console

Google is expanding Search Console reporting to give publishers more visibility into how content performs inside AI Overviews, AI Mode, and generative Discover surfaces.

Traditional rankings no longer tell the entire discovery story. Content can be surfaced, summarized, or cited in an AI-generated answer without producing the same click pattern as a standard blue-link result.

For founders, the better question is no longer simply, “Where do I rank?” It is: “Does my content show up when buyers ask AI the questions that lead to a purchase decision?”

The reporting is still evolving, but the direction is clear: AI search visibility is becoming measurable. Founders with clear, original, well-structured bodies of work will have an advantage as that measurement catches up.
