Let’s begin:
1) My Back Story
Highlights (and lowlights) about who the heck Clifton Sellers is:
Grew up in Level Plains, Alabama
Lost mom to cancer before age 8
Found out I was adopted a year later
Battled with drugs, alcohol, and depression
Started playing football and it saved my life
Ended up starting at Center for 3 years in college
Went on to get 3 degrees (final was a EdD)
Started my corporate climb in fundraising
Moved 3 times and eventually became a VP
Realized that I was unhappy with the life I built
Started a Twitter account
That got me to August of 2021 and then I went through 6 months of Pain

Me accepting my EdD.
2) 6 months of Pain
(My first profile pic)
This is the part of the story that sucks when you're in it, but was important.
When I started I had no clue what I was doing.
So I was an easy target...
I tried:
Affiliate Marketing
Amazon FBA
eBay reselling
E-commerce
Digital Products
I actually lost money and had no clue what to do. I was in beginner’s hell.
This would've been an ideal time to quit (but I was staring at debt and a corporate ladder that wasn't going to give me the life I really wanted).
So I marched on.

My desk setup at the beginning.
3) Ah-Ha Moment
I messaged everyone who was ahead of me online and made real money.
The same piece of advice kept coming up:
You have an amazing story and unique view, lean into that.
So, I did…
At that point, I still had less than 8k followers and decided to focus on writing.
The next 6 months looked like this:
Writing a thread every day
Going from 8k followers to 100k+
Started working as a writer for Dakota Robertson
He helped me launch my own offer and sign clients
Finally realizing my path to business in launching and scaling Legacy Builder
So for those keeping score at home…
It took 12 months to get to the point where I had a way to make money.
In part two I am going to break down:
4) Content Engine
5) The Shift
6) What's Next?
This will show how I scaled, going all in and stepping up professionally, and our roadmap.
Stay tuned for our next email on Monday!
