How to Build a "Content Flywheel"

Branding Daily

Let’s talk all things content flywheels:

What is a Content Flywheel?

A content flywheel is a strategic approach to content creation and distribution that builds momentum over time.

Unlike traditional funnels that lose energy at each stage, a flywheel leverages each piece of content to generate continuous value and drive consistent engagement.

It’s about making the most of your efforts and creating a self-sustaining loop where each action propels the next.

The goal is to create one massive piece of content, and then repurpose that into multiple different types of content.

Here’s an example:

Your Newsletter or Blog: (If you don’t have a newsletter, you can interchange this with a long-form post). If you write a 1x per week newsletter or your company writes a blog post once a week, write it on a topic that can then be extrapolated into multiple pieces of content.

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for new and insightful newsletters to read.

One of my favorites that I’ve been reading a ton lately is The Small Business Mentor.

Alan, the writer of the newsletter, has built his government contracting business to over $30M in revenue.

In his newsletter, he shares everything he’s learned along the way.

And my favorite part?

He’s a no BS kind of guy… you get all of the details, all of the information you need, without the fluff.

Sign up for his newsletter below:

Long-Form Posts: Next, you should be able to pull out 1-2 long-form posts (threads and carousels) from the newsletter or blog. You may have to do some tweaking, but it will work.

Short-form Posts or Tweets: Finally, you want to post at least once a day on both X and LinkedIn if you’re looking to build a brand. Between the newsletter and long-form posts, you should be able to pull out 7 posts for the week.

So there you go, now instead of creating:

  • 1 Newsletter

  • 2 Threads

  • 7 Tweets

Every week from scratch…

Now you’re able to create:

  • 1 Newsletter

And repurpose that into the rest of your content for the week. It’s a great way to save time and add consistency to your messaging and branding.

Thanks for reading!

Building a brand is about more than copywriting, marketing, and posting content online…

It’s about adopting the mindset, skills, and beliefs that it takes to build a brand and business online.

And that’s exactly what I plan to dive into every day with this newsletter.

Until next time... Keep building,

Clifton
