Building a brand is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

It took me years of trial and error to get to where I am today.

To help you avoid the many common mistakes I found myself making… I’m going to make you two lists today.

1. The first will be everything that DOESN’T help you build your brand and make money.

2. The second will be the things that DO build your brand and make you money.

Let’s get right into it…

Things that don’t make you money:

• Creating a fancy website

• Reorganizing your calendar

• Creating your Dream 100 list

• Continuously updating your bio

• 5 hours of internal meetings per day

• Not prioritizing your customer journey

• Spending time trying to find the next hack

Things that do make you money:

• Daily outreach

• Networking daily

• Talking to clients

• Posting content on your profile

• Committing to a weekly newsletter

• Asking for referrals in every client interaction

• Commenting and engaging with other creators

By going through both of these lists, my hope is you get the sense that action will always trump planning.

So, the 80/20 rule…

80% of your results will come from 20% of the effort.

Don’t get caught up in the tasks that don’t drive results.

Building a brand is about more than copywriting, marketing, and posting content online consistently…

It’s about adopting the mindset, skills, and beliefs that it takes to build a brand and business online.
